Gene, good to hear your small grains book will be out in a few months. I have also seen it on sale for $300+, I wonder why. There is a copy at our local library that we have check out in the past.

We grew a small amount of wheat this year for our kids to see how it is grown and harvested by hand. I wonder if one can buy some small scale combines from Europe, probably too expensive anyway.
We wasted some doing it by hand, but our chickens get to scratch for the remainders.

I grew some crimson clover for a cover crop this spring (planted in the fall) along with field peas and vetch, the bees love it and it kept the weeds from coming up.

Gene,

Brag all you want! After having the opportunity to see your pasture first hand, I can say it's about as close to heaven as you can get while here on earth.
